Finley Recognized as Fiber-to-the-Home Top 100

For the seventh consecutive year Finley Engineering has been named to the Broadband Communities Fiber-to-the-Home Top 100. According to the magazine, "Building a Fiber-Connected World is the tagline of Broadband Communities magazine, and each year the FTTH Top 100 list recognizes organizations that lead the way in this arena. During the last year, the “game of gigs” that began with Google Fiber’s Kansas City deployment continued apace, and the editors had plenty of Top 100 candidates to choose from.”

  

FCC Releases ACAM Final Version and Starts 90-Day Clock

On August 3rd, the FCC Wireline Competition Bureau released the final version of the ACAM cost model that establishes the model-based support available to rate-of-return carriers that elect to accept model-based support.  Carriers have until November 1, 2016 (90 days) to indicate, on a state-by-state basis, whether they elect to receive model-based support.

US Ignite Joins NSF in Beyond 5G Advanced Wireless Industry Consortium 

Leading wireless networking companies participating in US Ignite are joining with the White House and National Science Foundation (NSF) in launching the Advanced Wireless Industry Consortium (AWIC), a nationwide initiative that aims to spur development and deployment of new technologies that go beyond 5G, said US Ignite.

  

DLNA 4.0 Home Network Streaming Standard Available from Digital Living Network Alliance

The Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) recently announced that guidelines for version 4.0 of its technical standard for streaming digital content in the home via smart TVs, set-top boxes (STBs), PCs and mobile devices is available for download.
