Parks: 31% of U.S. Broadband Households Subscribe to More Than One OTT Video Service
Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hulu – it seems any one OTT video service isn’t enough to meet the need of U.S. viewers. Nearly one third of U.S. broadband households (31%) subscribe to more than one OTT video service, according to according to new market data from Parks Associates’ OTT Video Market Tracker.
Samsung Expands Smart Kitchen IoT Platform with New Smart Appliances
Samsung unveiled its latest Internet-enabled refrigerator and a new line of “smart” cooking appliances at CES 2017 in Las Vegas. The new products are the latest additions to the Samsung smart kitchen IoT platform. Samsung introduced six new models of Family Hub 2.0 refrigerators at CES, bringing the total number of models to 10.
IEEE 5G Initiative Launched
IEEE recently launched a global 5G initiative that aims to draw on the skills, knowledge and talent of experts from industry, academia and government policy to accelerate development of the next-gen wireless standard and realize its socioeconomic potential. The IEEE 5G Initiative has been established based on contributions from IEEE societies worldwide. Working groups are now seeking volunteers from industry and academia, the industry association highlights in a press release.
