Missouri Governor Proposes $45M for Rural Broadband

On March 1st, Missouri Governor Eric Greitens announced a rural growth plan that will focus on bringing rural broadband to Missouri. In the Governor’s proposal, $45 Million of the unexpected federal funding will be invested specifically for rural broadband to bring high-speed internet to every business and home in Missouri. $1M of these funds would be used for a comprehensive mapping project to produce a total cost estimate.  Governor Greitens also proposed a Rural Broadband Matching Fund that would provide grants to match private investments for new broadband infrastructure.
