Li-Fi Forecast, or Broadband by Light, to Grow 48% Yearly Through 2020

Global investment in deployment of Li-Fi (Light Fidelity) broadband wireless technology is poised to soar this year and the nascent market is expected to grow at a 48% CAGR from 2016-2020, according to new market research from Technavio.

 

Travelers and Smartphones: 97% Use Them to Enhance the Experience, Says CTA

Nearly all American smartphone owners (97%) use their devices to enhance their travel experiences, according to new market research about travelers and smartphones from industry association CTA (Consumer Technology Association). That includes using the devices for search and discovery, directions, taking photos or videos, and staying in touch with family and friends.

 

Cloud Spending Forecast to Reach $37 Billion in 2016

A bullish cloud spending forecast comes from IDC. Global spending on cloud IT infrastructure products – server, enterprise storage and Ethernet switches – will increase 16.2% to $37.4 billion this year, according to the market research firm. Spending for public cloud data centers will increase 18.6% and account for the majority (62.5%), IDC says.
