ATIS, OCF Work to Integrate IoT Standards

ATIS and the Open Connectivity Foundation (OCF) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding to promote technical interworking between OCF and Internet of Things (IoT) standards. Under the terms of the ATIS, OCF memorandum, ATIS and OCF members will cooperate to develop an open source implementation of an interworking proxy to facilitate seamless user access to a wide range of IoT services for commercial products through use of the oneM2M global standards.

5G Americans Report Highlights Impact of  5G on Connected, Autonomous Cars

5G Americas, recently published Cellular V2X Communications Towards 5G, a whitepaper examining the role of 5G technologies in cellular-based vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications.

Smart Home, IoT Driving Better In-Home Digital Health Care 

The IoT and smart home platforms are combining to propel the digital health industry, according to new digital health research from Navigant Research.

The net impact is lower costs and improved patient care, the report says. “The nexus of IoT and health ultimately puts power in the hands of consumers and enables self-care,” said Paige Leuschner, a research analyst with Navigant Research, in a press release. 

PEW Research: A Quarter of American Adults are Online Constantly

A follow up to a 2015 study by Pew Research Center shows that the common wisdom that people are spending more time online is true. Researchers found substantial increases in the frequency of internet usage among American adults.

Research conducted in January found that 26% of American adults go online “almost constantly,” a 5% increase from 2015.
