Mississippi Optical Network Trial Achieves 1 Tbps Throughput
C Spire has released results of terabit tests that the company conducted with Nokia and EXFO on behalf of the Mississippi Optical Network (MissiON) last November. The Mississippi Optical Network terabit trial was conducted at Mississippi State University campus and focused on the Allen data center on the Starkville campus.

IDC Report: IoT Spending to Reach More Than $1 Trillion by 2022
The growth of the Internet of Things will continue through the year and beyond, according to IDC.The firm expects worldwide spending on the technology to reach $745 billion in 2019, an increase of 15.4% over the $646 billion spent last year. Spending will maintain double-digit growth – which started in 2017 – through 2022. At that point, spending will surpass $1 trillion.

Broadband Forum Launches Broadband Quality Experience Delivered project
The Broadband Forum has launched a new project – Broadband Quality Experience Delivered (Broadband QED), an effort that Vodafone Predictable Network Solutions (PNSol) will lead.
The project will focus on factors such as latency, consistency, predictability and reliability. Broadband QED will use Quality Attenuation to deliver greater insight into experience quality and outcome, looking at the performance aspects of networks and the services that they enable, rather than just the data rate.
