As 5G Begins, Researchers are Already  Exploring 6G - 3D Communications.

5G networks are just beginning to launch, yet researchers are already discussing what the next generation – 6G wireless – will bring. Typical wireless generations last about a decade or so, so it isn’t too early to wonder what’s next, according to a new white paper from Walid Saad, associate professor in the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech.

Congratulations to the city of Clarksville, AR, on their journey to bringing better broadband to their residents and businesses. After a business case study with CCG Consulting, and a complete design with Finley Engineering, Clarksville better understood their needs and what should be addressed before moving forward with a fiber network. This included partnering with Pinnacle Telecom of Fort Smith to offer VoIP services.

Industrial 5G Market Research: 65% Plan to Use 5G Within Two Years

Industrial 5G market research from the Capgemini Research Institute found that industrial companies want to take advantage of 5G and some will seek licenses to give themselves more control over their initiatives.

 

Wi-Fi Alliance, CableLabs Release Wi-Fi Cetrified Data Elements Code

The Wi-Fi Alliance and CableLabs have released code for Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Data Elements, an initiative aimed at developing key performance indicators (KPIs) for Wi-Fi networks. The initiative, which began last year, is aimed at optimizing and increasing reliability of residential and business Wi-Fi deployments. The groups say that improvements will be critical to deploying the cable industry’s 10G initiative.
