Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced last week it has achieved the industry’s 5G speed record in a lab demonstration that combined 800MHz of mmWave spectrum with MU-MIMO (Multi-User, Multiple-Input, Multiple-Output) technology.
USDA Announces Second Application Window for Distance Learning and Telemedicine Grant Program Funding
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is opening a second application window for funding under the Distance Learning and Telemedicine (DLT) grant program in response to the ongoing pandemic. The agency gained additional funding for the program through the CARES Act. A total of $72 million is available to help rural residents gain access to health care and educational opportunities.

FCC Announces Plans for COVID-19 Telehealth Fund
Federal Communications Commission Commissioner Ajit Pai announced plans for a new $200 million telehealth program to support health care facilities in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The funding for the program was included in the CARES Act signed into law by President Trump on March 27.
