The Telecom Infra Project (TIP) has launched the TIP Academy, a platform designed with Accenture that is designed to provide upskilling for the telecom industry.

The B2B learning service is a platform developed in collaboration with Accenture to address industry needs for an industry-led, operator and vendor neutral training service. The goal of the TIP Academy is to create a workforce more digitally fluent and better able to participate in or lead on the solution design, development, testing and deployment of network solutions.

TIP Academy will offer courses that center on the wide range of open disaggregated solutions currently in development. The plan is to use case studies in addition to course material to enable TIP Academy members to learn from real-world experiences, such as insights from tests in TIP Community Labs and pilot trials.

The first curriculum will be centered on Open RAN, and will include more than 20 modules, starting from the fundamentals to more advanced topics, such as Open RAN System Integration or TCO and Business Evolution.

Initial TIP Academy customers will be Vodafone, Accenture and Deutsche Telekom, who will incorporate the platform into their employee learning programs.

“TIP has established itself as a coalescing force in the industry — bringing the world’s operators together with vendors and other connectivity stakeholders to accelerate the development of new and innovative disaggregated technologies,” said Yago Tenorio, TIP chairman, in a prepared statement. “The momentum behind the development of these technologies is undeniable. The commercial reality of these technologies means that the industry now needs to upskill its workforce to fully leverage these new solutions. The mission and vision of the TIP Academy is to be a referral point in the ecosystem of organizations who share the common goal of closing the knowledge and skills gap related with open disaggregated solutions.”

Started by Facebook, The Telecom Infra Project (TIP) is a global community of companies and organizations that aim to develop, test and deploy open, disaggregated, and standards-based solutions that helps with a broader adoption of technology across the globe.
