Cloud Gaming Forecast: $4.5 Billion by 2020, Thanks to 5G
The onset of 5G technology and the birth of new cloud gaming services will boost the cloud gaming market, according to a new cloud gaming forecast from ABI Research. The research firm expects growth to come from existing and new gamers who will find value in exchanging service fees for upfront hardware costs and increased device flexibility, as well as from higher quality visuals.
TIP, ONF Establish Liaison to Further Push Open, Disaggregated Broadband Networks
The Telecom Infra Project (TIP), a Facebook-backed organization, and the Open Networking Foundation (ONF) have entered into a liaison agreement. TIP’s Open Optical and Packet Transport (OOPT) project group and ONF’s Open Disaggregated Transport Network (ODTN) already collaborate. The two groups are extending their work with new initiatives in mobile and fixed broadband networks.
